Music Together® is designed for children from birth through kindergarten, with children of different ages learning together in the same class. This mixed-age approach is intentional and reflects what child-development research tells us about how children learn from one another.
Younger children naturally watch, listen to, and imitate the older children around them, while older children have opportunities to model musical behaviors for younger classmates. Everyone gets to learn at their own developmental level—and families with multiple children can enjoy making music together in the same class.
During each class, children may sing, dance, move, chant, listen, explore instruments, or simply observe. There is no expectation that every child will participate in the same way. Music Together meets children where they are, allowing their musical development to unfold naturally through play and participation.
And grown-ups aren't just spectators! Parents, grandparents, nannies, and other caregivers are all welcome to participate alongside their children. The goal is to create a shared musical experience that families can enjoy together in class and continue at home.
